Environment&Sustainability Specialist

Vattenfall is one of Europe`s largest electricity generators and producers of heat. BA Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power onshore and offshore as well as other non-hydro renewable activities like solar and batteries. We manage the maintenance, operation and continuous improvement of wind generation assets safely and with the highest levels of availability and profitability. We also perform the structuring and execution of project partnerships in accordance with overall wind strategy.
The Environmental and Sustainability unit (EnSu) within BA Wind is a centralized unit supporting our business activities across onshore, offshore, solar, batteries & hydrogen with the aim of lifting sustainability into every aspect of our business and facilitating co-existence of renewable energy development with society and a rich natural environment.

Do you want to shape the future?
We are looking for a Senior Circularity specialist in the Environment & Sustainability Unit withing our Business Area Wind.
Your main tasks and responsibilities as Senior Circularity specialist:
•    be the interim point of contact for Vattenfall Group Circularity strategic internal & external initiatives
•    further develop the BA Wind Circularity Roadmap - enrich roadmap with feasible circular measures by cooperating with various (internal & external) stakeholders, validate baseline and targets, get targets accepted internally, raise awareness in the organisation, start with coordinating implementation of roadmap & targets, KPI development & monitoring.
•    be the interim point of contact for the BA Wind Blade recycling KPI tracking
•    support the implementation of sustainability in procurement strategies and development of tender circularity award criteria
•    provide circularity expertise (incl. blade recycling) for Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, Solar and Batteries asset development, construction, operation & decommisioning
•    support in circularity content development for sustainable award criteria / minimum requirements in Offshore Wind Auctions
•    faciliate and participate in circularity (incl. blade recycling) related R&D and external working groups

Your qualifications and personal skills as Senior Circularity specialist:
•    MSc degree in the field of Sustainability or related fields
•    At least 5 years of working experience;
•    Is fluent in written and spoken English; a second language such as Dutch, German, Swedish or Danish would be valuable.
•    Strong understanding of Circularity Principles
•    Has worked in the renewable energy sector
•    Ability to develop and implement comprehensive Circularity strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices
•    Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders to build consensus and support for Circularity initiatives
•    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and foster a culture of Circularity throughout the organization
•    Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of sustainability initiatives to ensure timely and successful implementation
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate Circularity goals, progress, and achievements to various stakeholders
•    Willingness to stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainability and carbon management, and adapt strategies accordingly
