Controller in Rotterdam

S4 Energy is a superfast growing project oriented company in the vibrant renewable energy sector. Our small and close-knit finance team consists of a CFO, a financial administrator and you, our new controller! In this role you will report to the CFO. 

You will streamline our budgeting and financial reporting processes. Besides that you will produce thorough financial-status reports to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
You analyse and interpret financial data to provide valuable insights to S4 Energy's various business units, investors and other stakeholders. These insights help make decisions related to investments, financial planning, budgeting and risk management.  
You will also be involved in business development projects, where together with the project development team you will lead the model for the financial business case.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the monthly reporting and annual budget process together with operational team members
• Drive high quality decision making with in-depth analysis of trends and issues (both financial and strategic)
• Setting up financial reporting tools
• Coordinate the audit cycle
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field
• Five years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
• Experience and strong affinity with business intelligence tools
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex financial issues
• Ability to communicate with multidisciplinary stakeholder
• Affinity with sustainable energy technologies, legislation and trends in the energy transition
• Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
