Business Analyst Reconciliations Do you want to work with data, improve controls of the bank and be part of a squad that play a central role in a continuous changing environment? In this role you will have the opportunity to work with data and analyse processes with the goal to define and implement (Transaction Reporting) Reconciliations.


You and your job
As a Business Analyst you will be a member of the Reconciliations squad. This squad develops and supports reconciliations for internal and external data such as cash, positions, transactions and regulatory reporting. The squad operates at the core of the bank covering controls for many if not all business lines.

• 13 colleagues in 1 squad • 900 nostros accounts for 43 Rabobank entities worldwide 

• 13 regulators worldwide for Transaction Reporting
• 200 reconciliations for Wholesale, Rural and Retail business lines
• 4 applications facilitating reconciliations using data provided by 65 sources, consumed by 7 applications and used by hundreds of end-users worldwide

Top 3 responsibilities

 • You perform analysis to continuously improve reconciliations and related services; this focussing on Transaction Reporting controls (following external changes in legislation) • You represent business stakeholders and with your expertise provide the squad with business needs
• You analyse data and configure reconciliations to meet the bank’s objective to remain in control
Together with your colleagues in the squad, which consists of IT and business expertise, you are empowered to support and continuously improve the Reconciliations applications and its services using an agile way of working.


In a continuous changing environment you play a central role in this squad by analysing data and processes, translation of and ultimately the implementation of requirements. To remain a rock solid bank you consider aspects such as risks and controls, regulatory compliance and costs efficiency in the product development. The changes and requests you manage are diverse in nature and follow each other in rapid succession. You are able to keep the total overview and, towards your squad and stakeholders, you clearly present and substantiate your proposals on how to deal with these changes and guide/support them in realising the related benefits.

Main challenges in the role are to deal with many interests and stakeholders, meeting regulatory requirements, proposing standards across Rabobank’s branches whilst not overcomplicating the application landscape.

The 13 people in the Reconciliations squad develops and supports applications for activities related to the optimization and control of data such as cash, positions, transactions and regulatory reporting. The squad Reconciliations acts in close collaboration with other squads within Tribes across the bank and is involved in various large, ongoing transformation programs. You also align with Front office, Operations, Compliance, Architecture and IT stakeholders in your daily work. Through your communication and stakeholder management, these stakeholders gain understanding of each other’s perspectives and support each other in achieving results.
You and your talent The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, has experience in Data Management, Process Management, Transaction Reporting and the products traded by Markets & Treasury. In addition, it's important that you recognise the things in the checklist below:

• 3-5 years of experience in Wholesale Banking;

• Bachelor degree in a relevant field;

 • Experience with Scrum/Agile way of working;
• You are comfortable to work on business and regulatory aspects, as well as technical aspects of the product 

• Firm understanding around Transaction Reporting legislation (eg Canada and HKMA regimes) 

• Being able to switch between all stakeholders and facets, from business, end-users, management, compliance, IT and team to product, market, organization and own ideas;

 • Able to manage different interests and getting people involved; 

• Always looking for the highest possible value for the bank;

 • Result-oriented, you have an intrinsic motivation to improve and realise results, you plan deliverables ahead know how to make progress transparent
